I’ve yet to get close to mastering the finger floggers, introduced to them after being schooled in proper flogging techniques with “standard” type floggers. I do have a pair, I think my issue with them is the falls are about 4-5″ longer than most of my other ones, I want to trim them back, but just haven’t been able to bring myself to do it yet. Actually had rosie_cd work with me and we improvised a way to switch between them being finger floggers and having handles which she luckily had enough leftovers of the original colors to match. See a resemblance to my EL Kabong? 😉

I too, seem to have a wide assortment of various fall variations. All leather, but again, one or more for every sensation you could think of I think…which led me to start the Floggers Anonymous group. LOL Began as a total joke between myself and the mentor I had at the time, as we found ourselves finding so many new and different types available, and watching our wallets grow thinner as we investigated as many as we could. Slowly we picked up a couple of members here and there, and to my complete surprise ended up with the 175 +/- members we currently have, Dealers, and addicts alike. Not trying to steal members from this group at all! If this post isn’t appropriate, then admin, please feel free to pull it. Just thought it was a funny story.

I had the exact same calling of rope as you. I joined the local rope group and started conversing with the leaders who ran it. I really didn’t want to attend a session on my own (felt like a Larry Loser), although I was encouraged too, as there were other singles that were attending. I opted to find a rope buddy. I spent an afternoon reading profiles (looking for commonalities) and sending a few messages. After conversing with an incredible man, we ended up meeting for coffee a few times, and before long we attended our first session which was very cool!. My rope buddy is now my Sir, and our journey continues across the full spectrum with this Lifestyle, with rope still a love for us both.

    Hey there,

I would suggest you do a little research on they “lifestyle” before taking part. It’s a good idea the to get a good understanding of the type or rules or etiquette different groups or couples follow. I photograph a lot of swingers in the lifestyle and participate in several “swinging” groups on Facebook. Each lifestyle group varies a bit in how the conduct themselves. It’s important to find a group that is welcoming and operates in a way you and your hubby are comfortable with.

You should be clear with your husband what you are both looking to get out of this experience. Determine whether you are interested in full swap or just bringing another person into your lives for “playtime”. It can be a lot of fun and with the right type of interactions very fulfilling but a single bad experience could be very damaging. I think going in edjucated can make a huge difference.

Ok that’s my perspective. I hope this is helpful.

If you can find someone close to you, then that is always best. If you can’t find someone then try locating an event with venders nearby and visit them. Most will be glad to talk with you to help you get what you are looking for and even suggest materials and lengths of falls and handles. Buying in person offers you the advantage of being able to use it on your own bared arm or leg before purchasing, which is rather difficult to do on line.

Use the yellow pages. Call local upholstery shops. They keep the random edges and ends. $10 bucks worth can make a pretty decent flogger. I have even found 1/4 hides for $30. All kinds of cool colors.

I don’t do the whole “primary” “secondary” thing, my relationships all have different qualities and I can’t/don’t measure those against each other. After all what’s the smell of an apple worth vs. the sound of a piece of classical music? Which one of those is “primary”?

Personally I don’t particularly like seeing the terms but I accept their usage. It just seems like having a hierarchy gives an easy excuse to dismiss certain people as less important or valid (maybe that’s just my baggage though from having to deal with the trans community and some annoyingly idiotic “transier than thou” types).
