#6 – ‘Influence” in this case I believe would be the ability to stop a scene or direct the flogging to an appropriate / desired level.

I was once whipped by a woman who would not stop. Fortunately she was not very good at bondage and I was able to catch the whip and stop the scene.

Note: She was total novice off of ‘Craig’s List’. That was my bad and I did it for the adventure. Then again I’m a guy in fairly good shape. I don’t recommend this to people in general.

I agree, wholeheartedly. We refer to Riggers as riggers or rope tops, we still use the term rope bottom adding “and models”. There are still males here that have no issue with the word bottom because in their minds, they are ON the bottom while the rigger is on Top.

Without jacking your thread – I hear you, I understand the lack of males as models/rope bottoms; I’m hoping that with time and increased visibility, the interest to be tied will increase. Our own rope scene up here is quite small and a bit behind everyone else in the US but, there are enough smaller camps working with and indepedently of each other; that we are working towards a change.

I can only encourage you to meet with local riggers and present the idea of creating a rope group with the intent of working with males as bottoms for scenes & practice. See how many would be interested and build your foundation from there.

As for the issue if flexibility, at 38, I feel the need to take yoga and work on increasing my bend – at my age and going forward; I’m not nearly as flexible physically as I was in my 20’s. Given what I seek to achieve, it’s a requirement.

Yep, I’m an aerialist who also does self-suspension/rigging. Love mixing fabric and rope for a zen affect. Nice to cradled the head in a fabric cocoon or drap the material over the suspended person. I also like having a hammock of aerial silk to facilitate staying airborn for dupe rational periods and the diversity of textures etc. I recommend at least 7 yards of fabric. I got 5 yards and found it slightly on the short side. Have fun!

I love visible bruises too, though I do get a bit nervous of the finger-shaped ones that make it obvious I’ve been grabbed/held-down, since I can’t explain them away with a casual “oh I bumped into a table” etc. They look incredibly hot though!
