Thank you for that nice, well thought out replay. I do think I should NOT have said “rules” or at least said “rules for me”.
I do enjoy something intense, at least by my standards, something that will at least make me cry. And maybe therein lies the problem. I need complete trust if I’m going to do something intense. Maybe as I gain more experience that will be less necessary.
I would add that when you talk to your Sir (as I’m sure you will), see if time expended or number of strokes can be limited and built up over time. I started taking short floggings of as little as 24 strokes and am now at about 84, my goal is to get past 150. The more you can take, the heavier the floggers he can use and the more pleased he will be.
As for the sub-space, I find mentally counting helps (also useful if he asks for a count as a test!). Hair pulling, clothes pegs on sensitive areas… there are all kinds of distractions that can be used (lying on a bed of thumb tacks really helps)… you get the idea!
I can’t comment much on the mental aspects of gender thinking differences.
As for presentation, this is less of concern. If I want a person’s chest squeezed enough to make blood flow make their nipples sensitive, I am going to tie with that goal.
It is always worth remembering that it is often much less socially acceptable for a man to appear publicly in bondage compared to a woman.
I will agree with elements of the above. Some scenes are very male top/female bottom oriented and people get all flustered and confused. You can have event organizers and other folks act with less respect and consideration. It sucks and drives male bottoms that I respect to play in private even at kink events.As for “weight” as a factor. It is a factor for both genders (or any person). Ditto for height disadvantage, person volume and strength factors. Lifting someone who is thin, shorter and some low weight is relatively easy. When you have to move away from them, use pulleys and cause things like carabiners or rings to angle, the forces change significantly along with the risks.
There are also muscle, flexibility, fat tissue and nerve exposure issues. I have played with some extremely flexible “male” bodies. Again, it doesn’t matter on gender.
In other words, it isn’t a gender given the huge range of bodies. It is a knowledge and skill aspect that is poorly understood in the rope world.
I do Aerial Yoga! I do self suspension with rope too. i find that the aerial ‘silks’ can bunch up and be just as painful as a twisted rope in suspension, but if you are careful to keep the material smooth, it can allow for a tender bunny to experience suspension without rope bite. Just make sure that the material folds away from the skin, so that the parts touching the skin are not bunched up.
hello, ebay is a great source for leather. Try shopping at Goodwill and other such places for leather coats or vinyl… Things you don’t mind cutting.
Glove leather is about 2 to 4 ounces and is soft. The softer the leather the lesser the thud. The heavy the leather the lesser sting. The wider the fall (the individual strips) the more thing, less sting, the more narrow the fall, the more sting.
It is up to you what you are wanting. I have seen floggers made from everything. Rope, old raincoats, old coats, just about anything…
Just made sure it is balanced and makes you and you playmate happy 🙂
